Lyrics

Like A Tree

I’m sitting here as the days are getting cold.
The year is growing old and is coming to an end.
It’s been so long since I’ve seen your smiling face.
I miss your warm embrace and all that could have been.
Will the day ever come when I see you once again?
It’s all that I am asking for this season.
Will it be like before, or is a change in the wind?
They say things always happen for a reason

Like a tree, let your leaves fall down onto the ground
Like a tree, trust your roots are strong
Grow towards the sunlight and bend against the wind
Believe that you’ll find happiness again

It’s been so hard but I do the best I can
though I may not understand where this winding road will lead.
Day after day my legs are getting weary,
don’t always see things clearly. I don’t have time to breathe.
And it’s hard to believe better times will be here soon
when everyday you’re looking at a storm cloud.
As the night starts to fade sitting in my darkened room
I try to count the blessings that I have now.

Like a tree, let your leaves fall down onto the ground
Like a tree, trust your roots are strong
Grow towards the sunlight and bend against the wind
Believe that you’ll find happiness again

As the bells are ringing down in the valley,
I raise my glass and hope that you will do the same for me.
Here’s to better times, leave the past behind.
Let us bend but never break just like a tree.

Like a tree, let your leaves fall down onto the ground
Like a tree, trust your roots are strong
Grow towards the sunlight and bend against the wind
Believe that you’ll find happiness again

Like a tree, let your leaves fall down onto the ground
Like a tree, trust your roots are strong
Grow towards the sunlight and bend against the wind
Believe that you’ll find happiness again

Believe that you’ll find happiness again
Like a tree
