From the recording Take Back the Winter

Words and Music by Judy Daigle

Lyrics

December is upon us. It’s a special time of year.
Everyone is spreading happiness and cheer.
in this magic time here’s what I’ve come to know.

Wind chill factor, frozen pipes,
Keep the fire going all through the night,
Scraping windshields, shoveling snow,
multiple layers wherever you go.
Give me the summer, springtime or fall
Please take back the winter. I don’t like it at all.

The candles in the windows, the star’s upon the tree
Children skate on ponds gliding gracefully
They write their notes to ole St Nick up in the North Pole
then they make angels in the new fallen snow.

My snowsuits on, I gotta pee
My hat’s so low I cannot see
frozen fingers, mittens lost
I don’t think my feet will ever defrost.
Give me the summer, springtime or fall
Please take back the winter. I don’t like it at all.

O me O my, the drifts are 6 feet high.
o me o my, forecasting more tonight.
How many days, the countdown has begun
until the flowers bloom under the April sun

Give me the summer, springtime or fall
Please take back the winter, I don’t like it at all
