From the recording Reflections
Words and Music by Judy Daigle
Sitting here thinking back through the years,
all the moments that we shared.
The faded pictures help to make them clear.
They also make us painfully aware,
they’re no longer here
Minutes can seem to last forever,
while years they seem to fly.
Caught in a raging river,
swept away in the blink of an eye.
It’s funny how time goes by, time goes by
Remember when we talked of heading west
before the kids were born.
We put those dreams neatly folded in a chest
thinking someday they’d see the morn
but their day has past.
Time can be so cruel,
Changing all the rules.
Fast and slow
but in the end it goes.
With our future so much shorter than our past
I wish we could have known
the secret to make the moments last
but those little birds they have flown
There’s no second chance.
