From the recording Reflections
Words and Music by Judy Daigle
The 5 o’clock alarm screams “get out of bed”.
I’m running late and haven’t had my coffee yet.
I don’t want to be a sheep being led
with strangers down the street
I want to jump in puddles,
Fly through the air with a cape made from a sheet.
I want to dance in the rain without a care,
Feel the sand beneath my feet
and see rainbows in the sky through a child’s eyes
The weekend’s here but I have chores to do.
There’s bills to pay, the shopping and the laundry too.
Is this all there is to life? Me and you
ships passing in the night.
I want to go back in time
when there were endless possibilities.
Leave the real world behind
and find joy in the simple things.
